alpha and beta testing

#2
Alpha testing is an operational testing done by potential users/customers or an independent test team at the developers' site. Alpha testing is often employed for off-the-shelf software as a form of internal acceptance testing, before the software goes to beta testing.

Beta testing comes after alpha testing. Versions of the software, known as beta versions, are released to a limited audience outside of the company. The software is released to groups of people so that further testing can ensure the product has few faults or bugs. Sometimes, beta versions are made available to the open public to increase the feedback field to a maximal number of future user.

Hi All,

Alpha testing is the testing conducted by the customer at development environment to check whether the product being developed is matching the requirements.

Beta Testing Generally comes after the Alpha Testing process.Beta testing is the testing conducted by the end user to check whether the product behavior in customer environment is similar to its behavior in test environment.

Hi all,

What is alpha Testing :
Alpha testing is done by potential users or smart users or the persons who will use that and with the developers at the developer site with different operating system and hardware configuration. The main purpse of alpha testing is to check whether the product is running under different platforms or not.

What is beta testing :
Beta testing is typically an external testing/client side testing for identify any performance issues or bugs prior to an official release of the product. It can be open or closed .An open test is open to everyone who has the interest on beta testing. but an closed testing is used to control the number of users.

Thanks
