What is Meant by Equivalence partitioning

#2
Equivalence Partitioning is a methodology where we are categorizing all the inputs (as 'Equivalence Classes') in such a way that each member of a class is going the effect the application in an equal manner and thus generating the same output.

(i.e. we are classing all the input values into 'valid inputs' and 'invalid inputs')

This method is typically used to reduce the total number of test cases to a finite set of testable test cases, still covering maximum requirements.

In short it is the process of taking all possible test cases and placing them into classes. One test value is picked from each class while testing.
